Job Opening: Tenure-Track Professor of Practical Theology II (Religious Education)

The Faculty of Protestant Theology at the University of Tübingen invites applications for the position of
Tenure-Track Professor of Practical Theology II (Religious Education) to commence as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will represent a suitable breadth of research and teaching in the subject of Religious Education. Specified core research is expected in one of the following areas: Digitalization, interreligious and intercultural education, international research perspectives, empirical education research, gender and diversity research.

The position has a teaching load of four hours per week prior to the interim evaluation, and six hours thereafter.

Required qualifications include an outstanding doctoral thesis in a pertinent field and experience in obtaining grants as well as teaching experience.

In order to be appointed to a professorship with responsibilities in teacher training, applicants should as a rule have three years of work experience in schools.

Applicants for a tenure-track professorship with a PhD from Tübingen must have changed universities after completing their doctorates or have worked in academia for at least two years somewhere other than the University of Tübingen.

If the final evaluation after six years is positive, this professorship will be upgraded to a full (W3) professorship with no re-advertising of the position.
